KAMILA VALIEVA WILL BE THE HEADLINER OF THE 4TH STAGE OF THE MOSCOW SPOR CUP IN FIGURE SKATING

On February 25, 2023, the fourth stage of the Moscow Figure Skating Cup will take place at the small arena of the CSKA Multifunctional Sports Complex. More than 600 young skaters will compete for the right to qualify for the final round of the Tournament. One of the highlights of the Event will be an exhibition performance by the Olympic Champion Kamila Valieva, a graduate of the SSHOR "Moskvich" of Moskomsport, currently representing the school "Khrustalny".

As part of the fourth stage, the audience will witness competitions between 7 figure skating schools. In the junior category representatives of the CSKA SSHOR named after S.A. Zhuk as well as of schools "Be the first", "Western Ice" and "Kristal" will compete with each other. In the sports category the winner will be defined among men and ladies figure skaters of the "Legend" and "Snezhnye Barsy" departments of the "Legend" school of the GBU DOSSH of the Olympic Reserve "Moscow Academy of Figure Skating" of Moskomsport, the "Radyzhny" department of the “Sokolniki” school, as well as the "Zelenograd" MCSS.

The headliner of the fourth stage of the Cup will be the Olympic and European Сhampion Kamila Valieva. "I am very glad that I will be able to perform before our future Сhampions, – says Kamila Valieva. – The path of a figure skater begins at a very young age, and such competitions help to simplify the transition from children sport to adult. In addition, it seems to me that the performances of active sportsmen at such events are very inspiring to young people and additionally motivate them, so for me to perform here is a great honor and responsibility."
Moscow Sport Ice Ballet Cup

During the fourth stage of the Tournament the next round of the Moscow Sports Ice Ballet Cup will also take place. More than 480 athletes from 17 dance groups, ensembles, theaters and ballets on ice from all over Russia will compete in 4 age categories:

  • Pre-Novice B – children under 12;
  • Novice – participants 8 to15 years old, 4 skaters in the team may be not more than 3 years younger or older;
  • Junior – participants 11 to 18 years old, 4 skaters in the team may be not more than 3 years younger or older;
  • Senior – participants 15 years and older, 4 skaters in the team may be not more than 3 years younger or older;

For the Novice, Junior and Senior categories at least 10 and not more than 20 skaters should be on the ice at the same time, for Pre-novice B – teams from 8 to 30 people.

The Moscow Sport Figure Skating Cup is a youth team competition among skaters aged 6 to 12. The competitions are held among the teams of the I and II youth categories, as well as the I and II sport categories in men and ladies single free skating program.

The participants of the Cup are divided into two subgroups – in the first group public schools and departments of the Figure Skating Academy compete, as well as schools of CSKA, AFC "Angels Plushenko" and the Sports Club "Army of Figure Skating", while in the second - commercial organizations. The Tournament consists of six stages and a super final, which will be held at the end of April 2023 at the Small Sports Arena of the Luzhniki Olympic Complex. Five winners of the stages and two teams with the highest score according to the results of the free program from the first subgroup and four teams with the highest score from the second will get to the final.
